Personality •
Background • Moustofelees has had a rather bland life so far, being born in a pet shop and purchased by a lonely girl there is not too much to tell.
birth and the pet shop; Not much is remembered of these first few weeks of his life. The rat lived here for a little over a month, getting weaned from his mother and ready to be sold off as a small pet. He was placed in a display case after almost a month of life and remained there for somewhere between two and four days before being purchased by his new caretaker and carried away to what seemed to be an entirely new world.
new name and foundation; After arriving to a large apartment building in what seemed like the noisiest street in town the small rat was placed within a small cage padded with wood shavings, a familiar landscape to the rat. A small bowl of pellet foods sat in the corner with a water dispenser attached to the side. The caged pet spent a few minutes exploring the area, chewing on some of the welcoming food and taking a few sips of water before a monstrous hand descended upon his petite body. This hand belonged to a girl, no older than seven, who was surely his new master - if he would have been able to recognize what a master was, that is. She held him tightly - almost too tightly - and would stroke his head roughly with her thumb as she sat on the wooden floor straining her brain for a name. Glancing over towards a shelf a particular book caught her eye. With a grin, she patted the rat's head dubbing him Mr. Moustofelees in reference to her favorite story of the magical feline in the book Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. It seemed, suiting in a way and the rat took to the name after a short period of time.
the pampered lifestyle; Although often times roughly handled, Moustofelees has a very pampered and easy life. He doesn't have to work for his food and protection - that is, if you don't count providing entertainment to a young girl - and has plenty of room to explore in his owner's bedroom where she often times allows him to roam freely in the confined space. Often times "playing" consists of the rat's master dressing him in a doll's waistcoat and having a tea party or other miscellaneous game. However, over the past few months Moustofelees has really matured and grown to enjoy his life, even if he does sometimes long for something more. A more expansive world to explore every nook and cranny he can get his little, pink nose into. But for now, he is content where he is.
