Miko "I let her leave with everything I will ever have" |

The reek of the alley burned against the roof of Miko's maw. He hated it right now, the smell of gasoline and charred remains. The cool night air was lighted by the alley's very famous human scum. Well Miko's didn't feel those humans were scum in fact he would easily be seen curled up at the feet of one, on those cold nights. However right now he would have preferred to be whisker deep in dog breath then forced to sit by the damn fire. His entire body was on edge, a human who's entire body was covered in a fine layer of dirt had him captive. Well captive in the sense Miko hadn't yet escaped. The human-dirt had a ugly piece of rope around Miko's handsome neck which frustrated him. He didn't like being forced to be anyone's toe warmer in fact Miko hardly stay with one person for more than a night.
Pulling hard against the rope he found it was weak and if he tried hard enough, it break under his pure weight. The cat-napper had settled down with a bottle of sour liquid. Miko once had lapped at the amber brew and nearly gagged and fainted on it's foul taste. A cruel idea came into his mind as he purred his way into the rope master's lap. Settling at the right spot, with a quick flick of his shoulder the glass bottle shattered all over the dirt collector and with a mighty uproar he pushed Miko ago, rather harshly. Quick like, well a cat Miko caught himself before being hurt and lashed out with a hiss and a swipe of his claws. Just like that the rope was gone, well the pressure of it was, the master had let go and without hesitation Miko bolted out of the dirt-collector's eyesight and down another alley, pausing once to pick up with his whiskers a sense of direction. He didn't pause more than two heart-beats until he bolted again this time it wasn't so graceful.
The rope had snagged on a low hanging rod of some kind, and turned out stronger than Miko expected. With a yowl he struggled to pull the rope free, but it was fastened tightly around the cursed rod. "I'm such an idoit!" He cursed loudly and looked around, he hated being cornered and it brought a fear scent he didn't know he had start to pour out of him. This part of the alley was deserted and little life was seen, he did however catch the faint scent of mice but no water. If he didn't get free soon he might die right there.
"Help!" He yowled out, begging to the spirits or hell to the stars if he need to. He wanted this stupid rope off of him and he wanted it off now. With another tug he choked for breath and let go of the tension, walking closer to the snag he waited for help, surely someone would help.

Adina was looking for food, primarily, but she wasn't particularly hungry on this somewhat chilled night. Leaning back on her hind legs, she stuck her nose high up in the air and got a good whiff. She smelled unwashed humans, smoke, smog - all the normal alleyway smells. In the bright moonlight, something shiny flashed in a nearby trash pile. With a small squeak, Adina sprinted towards it. "Shinies!" the mouse squeaked eagerly, grasping at the glimmering object with her forepaws. Upon closer inspection, it became apparent that the object was some sort of square ring. Adina had seen these before on the cylinders that humans drank from. She became distracted by the idea of the cylinders. They always had some sort of sweet or tangy drink with bubbles that tickled her throat. If they had left the square ring, maybe the human had left behind the tasty treat as well? With a new goal in mind, Adina picked up the square ring in her mouth, fully intending to both search for the cylinder it came from, and to bring the square ring back to her nest. Adina trotted about the corner, feeling rather pleased with her latest plan and her new keepsake. She was so pleased she nearly missed a somewhat distant yowl. "I'm such an idoit!" Adina melted into the nearest shadow before freezing. She waited for a moment, wondering if the sound would repeat itself. Half standing on her hind legs, she raised one front paw and cautiously sniffed at the still air. Her ear twitched almost imperceptibly. "Help!" It came louder this time, and most definitely sounded like a cat. A sharp breeze whipped by the mouse, causing her to simultaneously shiver and catch the feline's scent. Suppressing her better judgement, Adina scampered in the direction of that the cat's scent came from. No matter how scary cats were with all their fangs and claws, Adina couldn't leave someone in need of help. Leaving her current alley, the mouse turned down the street and quickly made her way over the rough cement. Being out in the open like this made her feel nervous and exposed - even though there weren't a whole lot of sober humans to take notice of her at this time of night. Coming to the next alleyway, Adina darted in, feeling relieved to be back in one of her safe alleyways. In front of her a large chain link fence rose imposingly. In the left side, there was a portion of the fence that had been ripped apart. A frayed, gray rope was caught on an jagged edge of the fence. The other end was tied tightly around the neck of a rather imposing looking tom cat. Adina squeaked, swallowing back a wee bit of fear. "Hello mister!" She greeted him cheerily. Now that she was closer she could smell the fear the poured off of his body like a thick wave. Her nose twitched inquisitively, noting some other strange smells about him. He smelled of the strong drink that made humans act so silly. The scent of smoke clung heavy to his coat, and there was even the slightest scent of blood. "You get yourself into a little bit of a snag there mister? That's not good. If you're not careful you'll get caught like this all the time and that's not good! I used to have an auntie named Auntie Myrtle! My mommy always said that Auntie Myrtle would only get herself into trouble because Auntie Myrtle never took time to properly check an area out before rushing in to grab the food. Mommy says Auntie Myrtle was too impulsive and that's why she got all eaten up by a...a cat." Adina paused to stare at the strange tabby. Instinctively his maw opened to allow a better taste of the scent, it was a rodent. He wouldn't die in his alley from starvation, he pulled himself up just as the little rodent scurried toward him. Hello Mister Miko's eyes narrowed and he felt faint, that stupid rat could talk and thus with Miko's code of honor he wouldn't eat it, however it didn't stop his mouth from watering. With a frown on his face, Miko stared at the rodent slightly amused and annoyed with how much the rodent was talking, he didn't even give a damn to listen. However when the little rodent piped up about leaving, Miko quickly brought his attention to the little rodent. "Before you go would you mind helping me? I could use your little teeth to bite off this rope" Miko purred, putting on all the charm, his eyes no longer narrowed but bright and pleading almost. [/div]
