Early morning air which was still heavy with dew whispered it's little sleep spell on a certain she-fox. Her damp paws elegantly jumped from rock to rock, her placement precise and remarkable. Her delicate paws landed on a rock without a sound, her ears rotated. Humans were around! Shula's maw curved up into a wicked smile as she dropped down into the ear high grass. For a fox Shula was fairly small, just over a foot tall. Her tail bounced in the grass as she slithered he way toward the human voices. It was never to late to find something useful, her nose flared slightly as the thick scent of gasoline burned up her nose.
A pair of male humans were chatting, one had gloves on his hand and twisted a type of wire her Ma called barbed wire, it was scary to the sight and Shula still wasn't brave enough to venture to close, she wasn't stupid. The other human a thin male chatted with his work partner while holding a bitter smiling cup. Shula remembered the smell as coffee, Ma often times gave her left overs in her bowl. Shula wasn't a fan of the bitter drink and preferred to splash rather than drink it.
The truck both man were near had both doors open, her eyes brightened as she trotted easily toward the opposite door. Gathering herself up into a jump she hopped up into the truck and was quick at work. To her relief both males were busy with their work, she had the truck to herself. Nose buried in the seat she lapped up the leftovers of a sweet tasting food, it had a very faint taste of apples her belly was happy. She explored the truck more, it had two rows of seats the first were she found her breakfast proved empty, checking the close was clear she jumped into the back.
JACKPOT!
Three jackets and two blankets not to mention a few hats were lined in the back, she hopped around very playfully and sniffed every chunk of clothing. Finally picking out a nice hat which was warm and comforting, she picked it up in her sharp little teeth than a sound echoed in her ears that brought panic higher than ever.
A growl was coming from behind her, slowly turning with hat in maw she came snout to glass to another muzzle with a large dog. Panic raced through her frame as she gave a squeak, the dog on the other side of the glass barked loudly, alerting his human masters. That fear pounded in her heart then her legs as she sprung out of the truck, barely clearing the seat before hitting the ground. The hat snug in her jaw, she raced away, the human males shouted to each other, the dog barking and begging to be allowed to give chance. Shula's heart raced faster and faster as she ran, the hat getting dirty. Her amber eyes darted quickly for an escape route, what a stupid mistake for not looking were she stealing from.
A rock caught her attention, it was close to a tree without slowing down she jumped from rock to low branch, using all her muscles to keep her in the tree, her heart racing. "I'll wait here until that truck leaves" She said out loud, looking over to were the truck was park, the tree giving her a good view.

Slowly, as he wandered around aimlessly, the young canine took in the scents around him, hoping for some kind of hint for food. He breathed slowly, eyes trained on the ground, only occasionally blinking up to make sure he didn't fall or run into anything. It was very hot outside, and being a heavy built dog with thicker fur, it was hell. Huffing, the Icelandic Sheepdog paused in his walking and picked his head up. Ears perked and eyes alert but squinting from the sun, he glanced around him.
Kiev twisted his head around and scanned the horizon. The sun was blistering hot, and with the lack of clouds, the heat was rather dry. It wasn't necessarily stuffy, but it was hanging the air, and it was very uncomfortable. Little drops of drool fell from his tongue as he panted, looking around for shade. Briefly, he wondered what he was even doing out here, but then he reminded himself that food was easier to find out of the city. That would be true, but he didn't stop to think that... well, all the prey was hiding. It was too hot for everyone.
He let out a deep breath, sounding like a sigh, and boy was he tired anyway. All around him was grass, and even then, a lot of it was dying along with the flowers. For miles it was just plains, hills, and occasional trees here and there. In the distance, not too far away actually, he eyed what seemed to be a large... truck? At the sight, Kiev paused before cocking his head in thought. What was a truck doing out here? Having lived with humans for awhile, Kiev knew humans did not like going outside when it was hot unless they were traveling to water.
Suddenly, barking noises began in the distance, particularly where the truck was. This had Kiev's body moving unconsciously as he was curious as to what was going on. Quickly he pushed himself into a run causing his muscle to burn with overexertion. Soon enough, he came to the site and he slowed down and dropped to a crouch. It wouldn't hide himself in the short grass, especially with his orange fur, but it would rest his legs and show himself as nonthreatening as possible. Humans usually seemed to like it better and weren't as loud when he was not looking as if he might bite.
The dog that had been barking earlier seemed to be attempting to finding something. Fortunately for whatever the dog was finding, he didn't seem to be doing a great job. By the build, Kiev would guess the dog was brought with the humans more for guarding than tracking. The young male supposed something had tried to steal from the truck. The thought made him wonder if there was food around there, and so he pushed himself up into a sitting position.
The older dog caught the movement and quickly snapped his head up to glare at the smaller dog. He barked and snarled, “You! Kid, have you seen a fox around here? You're not working with it, are you? I swear if you are—!” Kiev whined and huffed a breath, quickly cutting the dog off before he got any more ideas. “No, of course not! I just came over here because I heard you barking...” He trailed off, unsure of where to go next. He supposed, later on, that his childish features and voice must have convinced him because the older dog said in a rough voice, “Fine then, scat! Leave, get out of here and let me do my business without distractions!”
Kiev quickly bounded away after that, ignoring the humans that were yelling in the distance. They probably thought it was him; humans were a little dense sometimes. Grumbling a bit, still, from the lack of shade, Kiev trotted toward the nearest tree. It wasn't much shade, but it would do. Maybe the humans would give up and he could try stealing something? Then again, he didn't really want to upset that dog. It wasn't as if he was completely incompetent, it was just so hot! Slowing to a swinging walk, Kiev reached the tree, turned around a few times as he stared at his tired paws, and finally plopped down with his back against the tree so he could see if the dog decided to follow him, though he couldn't see him. Not once did Kiev think about looking up.[/style][style=background-color: #523F49; text-align: center; opacity: .8; padding: 5px; border-top: #A08794 1px dashed; border-bottom: #A08794 1px dashed; margin-bottom: 20px;]✔ Tag Shula ✔ Count 767 ✔ Notes n/a ✔

Shula had found safety in the tree and looked over her prize. The hat had a very faint smell of smoke, not the kind that the humans would suck on but rather the pleasant smell of burning wood and still not the fear smell of a forest fire. Shula yipped in memory of her Ma, the human girl that took care of her a few months ago, the hat reminded her of the warm nights spent beside the fire.
The barking of the large brute of a dog stole her attention from her prize back to the truck. Another dog had found it's way to the truck and from the looks of him he was tired and hot in the heating sun, Shula felt a small sting of pity he looked very hot in his thick fur. Shula tempted as she was almost called out to him, to help this melting dog but the truck-dog worried her.
She remained in her tree just as the dog made his way over, fear struck her as she tested the wind, the dog wouldn't be able to catch her scent directly, the wind was blowing her in her favor. However as the dog planted himself on the ground right below her tree she picked it a safe time to show her hiding spot.
Gracefully she jumped from her high up branch to a lower one, just above the dog's head. The hat she had moved to drape over her back, later she would tear a hole for easier carrying.
"Um..Mister Dog, can I offer some advice?" Shula said in that all to sweet voice, her amber eyes blinking downward towards him, her face the picturesque look of friendliness and honest interest.

As a reflex, his ears twitched, and the dog pulled his head off his paws and turned his eyes up. His deep, brown eyes caught the site of an upside down red figure. It looked like a dog at first, but its snout was longer and more narrow. With a slender face, taller ears, and an overall smaller body, Kiev was sure it was not in dog. In fact, it didn't even smell like one. That being, of course, it was a bit troublesome to tell since well... he was seeing the canine-like creature upside down. Rather, he was just looking at it the wrong way.
"Um... mister dog, can I offer some advice?"
Kiev dropped his gaze as his neck muscles burned for holding the uncomfortable position. He quickly pushed himself to his paws, and before turning around, took a swift glance toward the direction where the humans were. Aside from some trees and endless brush, he didn't spy any moving people or dogs. After the glance, Kiev turned around, eyes yet again falling upon the animal. He could now see that the animal that had spoke to him with a soft voice was a fox, not an animal he normally saw. The female, as he could smell, seemed kind and genuine. Her face seemed open and friendly, hoping to give him said advice.
However, aside from the brief glance over, Kiev was curious as to what advice the fox was speaking of. Tilting his head to the side, ears falling over to the side, Kiev gave an expression of curiosity and bewilderment. Cautiously, he replied, "I suppose. What sort of advice?" His eyes watched hers, uncertain to her purpose. Kiev was not always trusting, but he certainly did not mind talking to strangers. He obviously didn't know this canine and was willing to listen to her, but a small part of him wondered why she would be talking to him anyway. He wasn't anything special, at least, he didn't think so.[/style][style=background-color: #523F49; text-align: center; opacity: .8; padding: 5px; border-top: #A08794 1px dashed; border-bottom: #A08794 1px dashed; margin-bottom: 20px;]✔ Tag Shula ✔ Count 344 ✔ Notes Finally got to it. :B ✔
